On September 12, Toyota’s new RAV4 Rongfang came out all new, bringing improvements. The new car was launched in nine models, and it is reported that the starting price has been lowered, making the car more accessible to consumers. So, what to watch for?
The new RAV4 has a simple front design and an air intake grille that exudes a sporty atmosphere. The design of the headlights is also more solid, in line with the aesthetic taste of young consumers. It is worth mentioning that the front grille of the fashion PLUS version has been upgraded to the same shape as the top version, and a plating strip of the same color of the body has been added to the trapezoidal middle net to improve the recognition.
The side of the body has also been optimized to reduce the excessive plastic trim, the wheel eyebrows and the rear spoiler have been replaced with black bright paint trim, and the silver trim under the door has been added to highlight the fashion sense of the vehicle.
The design of the tail has also been optimized, with more refined trim strips at the taildoor headlights and adjustments to the silver trim pattern at the rear surround, enhancing the overall design. In addition, the new car has also added an electric tailgate function, which improves the convenience of use.
Inside the car, the interior has also been upgraded on the details of the material. Seams have been added to the door panels and seats to give a more advanced feel, while the plastic around the door electric button area and the plastic around the shift handle have been upgraded to piano paint style, and wood grain has been added to the top of the door armrest. Overall, the material has been fine-tuned to retain the design style of the current model.
In terms of power, the new car continues the configuration of the current model. The 2.0L naturally aspirated engine is paired with a CVT stepless transmission. The petrol-electric hybrid model is equipped with a 2.5L hybrid system, which is matched by the E-CVT stepless transmission. In addition, a 2.5-litre plug-in hybrid is available, and the drivetrain is also matched with the E-CVT electronic stepless transmission.
However, although the Toyota RAV4 Rongfang is stylish and simple, the overall design is relatively conservative and lacks some innovative elements. Second, although the interior has been upgraded in details and materials, the overall design is still relatively traditional and slightly backward compared to some competitors. In addition, although the power configuration is rich, there is still room for improvement in fuel economy. It is hoped that in the future improvement, Toyota can further improve these aspects and enhance the competitiveness of RAV4 Rongfang.
