Byd Auto officially announced that its all-electric subcompact, the Seagull, achieved sales of 43,425 units in September, bringing the total sales since its launch to 591,884 units.
According to earlier sales details released by BYD, cumulative sales of Seagulls reached 311,667 units this year, with an average monthly sales rate of more than 40,000 units. The 2,025 models currently on sale were launched in August, with the price range maintained at 69,800 yuan to 85,800 yuan, the same as the old models, but with several upgrades in configuration.
As a small electric vehicle, the body size of Seagull is 3780mm long, 1715mm wide, 1540mm high, and the wheelbase reaches 2500mm, which is very suitable for daily commuting in the city.
In addition, the new Seagull has optimized the air conditioning system, the Freedom and Flying versions have added a heating function for the front seats, and the Freedom version also has a 6-way electric adjustment of the main driver’s seat. All models are equipped with master/passenger airbags and front and rear penetration side air curtains, and upgraded intelligent power on and off function.
In terms of power, the new Seagulls are equipped with a front-mounted single motor system with a maximum power of 55 kW and peak torque of 135 N · m. Two battery capacity options of 30.08kWh and 38.88kWh are offered, with a range of 305 km and 405 km respectively under CLTC conditions, while supporting the fast charging function.
