Recently, rumors that Tesla plans to launch a Chinese-made seven-seat Model Y(photo | configuration | inquiry) in China and Europe in October have attracted wide attention.

In response, Tesla China made an official response this afternoon, making it clear that there are no plans to launch relevant models in the country.

It also pointed out that the news that the Shanghai Gigafactory has started production of the seven-seat Model Y is false information.

Looking back at the development of Tesla Model Y, in March 2019, when Tesla first launched Model Y, it showed its flexible space design with seven seats.

However, it won’t be until 2021 that this additional seven-seater option becomes available in the U.S. market.

Currently, in the US market, only the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Model Y long-life version is available in a seven-seat configuration
