Saic General Manager Lu Xiao recently announced that the company will accelerate the launch of new models next year, fully covering pure electric, plug-in hybrid and extended range power, sounding the clarion call to counterattack the market. In addition to multi-function models (MPVS), SAIC-GM also plans to launch new energy models in the mainstream sedan and SUV markets to consolidate its competitiveness in the market.

At present, SAIC GM has launched including Cadillac IQ Raige (picture | configuration | inquiry), IQ Aigo song; Buick E4, E5, GL8 PHEV; Six all-electric and PHEV plug-in models, including the Chevrolet Explorer Plus. Next year, the number of new energy models will increase to 12, showing the company’s ambitions in the new energy field.

Saic-gm’s new car development speed will be carried out at a rate of 18 months, using advanced technologies such as CTP battery architecture, quasi-900V high voltage platform, 5C battery cell, solid-state battery and silicon carbide electric drive to ensure the leading position in performance and efficiency of its pure electric products.

This year, SAIC GM is also expected to launch Chevrolet Explorer EV and Cadillac Big Six new energy (expected to be Vistiq) models. The Buick brand will launch two new energy cars (including a medium and large pure electric car, expected to be the production version of the ELECTRA-L concept car), a new energy SUV and a new energy MPV (expected to be the production version of the OMPV concept car) next year.
